Lao Silk Residence

On October 23, the Lao Handicraft Association unveiled at the Traditional Lao Silk Residence in Vientiane, a major milestone for Lao craftsmanship and cultural preservation. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by First Lady Ms. Naly Sisoulith and Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Ms. Suansavanh Viyaket, was a celebration of Laos’ rich textile heritage.

The event celebrated “Textile Treasures of Laos”, the first national exhibition that showcases over 100 historic textiles, some dating back to the 19th century.  The exhibition includes the “Art of Contemporary Lao Crafts”, a display that highlights a diverse array of handcrafted fashion and lifestyle accessories from across Laos, celebrating both heritage and innovation in Lao craftsmanship.
